You’ve been dealing with unexplained symptoms long enough. That tingling in your hands, the weakness in your legs, the numbness that comes and goes – these aren’t things you should have to live with or wonder about.
Our nerve and muscle testing gives you concrete answers. We use electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies to measure exactly how your nerves and muscles are functioning. No more guessing. No more “let’s wait and see.”
When you know what’s actually happening in your body, you can make informed decisions about treatment. You can stop worrying about the worst-case scenarios running through your head. You get a clear path forward instead of more questions.
NY Spine Medicine has been helping patients in Roselle and throughout New Jersey get accurate diagnoses for their nerve and muscle problems. Our team includes board-certified neurologists who specialize in interpreting these complex tests.
We see patients every day who’ve been to multiple doctors without getting clear answers. That’s exactly why we focus on thorough diagnostic testing – because you deserve to know what’s going on with your body.
We accept most major insurance plans and provide same-day results with consultation, so you’re not left waiting and wondering.
The nerve conduction study comes first. We place small electrodes on your skin and send mild electrical pulses to measure how fast and strong your nerve signals are. It feels like small taps or mild static – uncomfortable for a moment, but not painful.
Next is the EMG portion, where we use a thin needle electrode to measure the electrical activity in your muscles. We test muscles both at rest and when you contract them. This shows us if the problem is in the muscle itself or the nerves controlling it.
The entire process takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on which areas we’re testing. You’ll get your results the same day, along with a clear explanation of what we found and what it means for your treatment options.

Our nerve and muscle evaluation covers both upper and lower extremities, depending on your symptoms. We test for conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, sciatica, herniated disc complications, and various muscle disorders.
You’ll receive a detailed report that your other doctors can use to develop your treatment plan. Many patients find this testing helps them avoid unnecessary procedures or medications because they finally have an accurate diagnosis.
We also coordinate with your other healthcare providers when needed. If you’re seeing a physical therapist, orthopedist, or primary care doctor, we make sure they have the information they need to help you effectively.
