You don’t have to travel to Manhattan or wait weeks for an appointment. We’re right here in your neighborhood, ready to help.
Your nerve and muscle testing appointment typically takes 45-60 minutes. We start with the nerve conduction study, where small electrodes are placed on your skin to measure how well electrical signals travel through your nerves.
Next comes the EMG portion, where a thin needle electrode is inserted into specific muscles to measure their electrical activity. Yes, there’s some discomfort, but most patients tolerate it well and say it’s less painful than they expected.
Throughout the entire process, we explain what we’re doing and what we’re finding. By the end of your appointment, you’ll have a clear picture of your nerve and muscle function, plus a plan for next steps.
