Advanced EMG and nerve conduction testing that pinpoints exactly what’s causing your symptoms.

You’ve been dealing with numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness for months. Maybe your fingers go numb at night, or your leg feels weak when you walk. Your regular doctor says “let’s wait and see,” but you need answers now.
Nerve and muscle diagnostic testing gives you those answers. Through electromyography and nerve conduction studies, we can see exactly how your nerves and muscles are functioning. Not guessing. Not assuming. Actually measuring the electrical activity in your body.
When you know what’s actually wrong, you can stop wasting time on treatments that don’t work. You can focus on what will actually help. And you can stop wondering if something serious is happening that nobody’s catching.
We’ve been helping North Central Florida patients get accurate nerve and muscle testing for years. We’re not a general practice trying to figure out neurological problems on the side.
Our physicians specialize in spine medicine and understand exactly what these diagnostic tests reveal about your condition. We’ve seen thousands of EMG and nerve conduction studies, so we know the difference between normal variations and real problems.
Most importantly, we explain your results in plain English. You’ll understand what’s happening in your body and why you’re experiencing the symptoms you have.
First, we’ll review your symptoms and medical history. We need to understand when your problems started, what makes them better or worse, and what treatments you’ve already tried.
During the nerve conduction study, we place small electrodes on your skin and send mild electrical pulses to measure how fast signals travel through your nerves. It feels like small static shocks – uncomfortable for a moment, but not painful.
For the EMG portion, we use a thin needle electrode to measure electrical activity in your muscles. This shows us if your muscles are getting proper signals from your nerves and how well they’re responding.
The entire process usually takes 30-60 minutes depending on which nerves and muscles we need to test. You’ll get your results the same day, along with a clear explanation of what they mean for your treatment options.

Our nerve and muscle testing includes both electromyography and nerve conduction velocity testing. This combination gives us a complete picture of how your nervous system is functioning.
We test the specific nerves and muscles related to your symptoms. If you have hand numbness, we focus on the nerves that control sensation and movement in your hands and arms. If you have leg weakness, we examine the nerves running from your spine to your legs.
You’ll receive a detailed report explaining your test results and how they relate to your symptoms. We also provide specific recommendations for treatment based on what we find. This isn’t just testing for the sake of testing – it’s diagnostic work that leads to better treatment outcomes.
