Foraminal narrowing or stenosis may arise without any disc herniation. The majority of symptoms are usually caused by one nerve root on one side.
Typically, the condition is characterized by the following:
Common procedures that we use for the treatment of foraminal narrowing include, but are not limited to: Epidural Steroid Injection or Nerve Root Block. All of these procedures are minimally invasive and cause little to no discomfort. Delivery of medication is done with a fluoroscopic guidance system; this insures the most accurate delivery of medication directly to the affected area. These procedures may be used in conjunction with other traditional treatments such as physical therapy.
Not only do these procedures alleviate pain, but also the underlying problem is improved or cured. We do not mask pain. We improve the underlying abnormalities.
